Created from the nightmarish ideas, mindset & talents of solo-artist Santeri Lohi – Charming Timur explores the harshest realms that music has to offer in effort to bring the darkness into the light…and sonically forcing you to pay attention.
After releasing the gritty debut record A Brief Moment Of Existence in 2014, Charming Timur has gone on to fist itself firmly into the metal scene worldwide and scar listeners over the years to follow through a series of subsequent album releases, EPs and singles. Through an ever-evolving, brutalizing & punishing sound that has incorporated Modern Metal, Nu Metal, Post-Metal and everything in between – the versatile & deadly style of Charming Timur continues to show no creative limitations or any signs of calming its rage. It is not music for the masses – it’s metal for people that actually get it.
Based out of Helsinki, Finland, Santeri Lohi is the lone person responsible for the enormous sound of Charming Timur. Taking on every possible role from writing to performance to production, for better or for worse, Lohi’s fractured thoughts have shaped the unique & bizarre extremes of Charming Timur’s desolate & despairing music. Where many others would turn away in life, he’s had gall to look – and as a result he’s been able to twist even the most horrific sounds into gripping, soul-stealing melodies; and while they might be painful to experience, deep down at the rotten roots of its core…you can still relate.
The music of Charming Timur is scathing proof that we all bleed out the same brutal way when we die & that our minds are all held in the same prison of chaos & confusion as captives on planet earth. Through relentless walls of sound pumped full of seething guitars, electronic short-circuitry, intense vocals & effects – the uncompromising & bone-crunching style of Charming Timur is shockingly memorable.
